If you are planning to order your textbooks from the SUNY Empire Bookstore, we suggest doing that as soon as possible! Shipping is free but could take up to two weeks for your materials to get to you. This article will show how to order your books for the spring term and provide some tips for doing so.

The first thing you should do is go to our bookstore website. You can get there two ways:

• Visit esc.edu/bookstore.
• You can also visit your MyESC page and click on the shopping basket icon labeled “Bookstore”.

We strongly encourage you to sign in because that will auto-populate information such as the required materials are needed for your classes and your financial aid information. One nice feature of ordering through the bookstore is that you can use excess aid to immediately pay for your textbooks, although you do not need to pay with your refund.

When you are ready to move on, you can click on “View your Materials” to see a list of materials.

The next page will list the materials for your classes. If a textbook is required, you will see the words “REQUIRED” in red letters next to it. You will also see additional information like the author and ISBN for each textbook. To the right of the textbook, you will see your options for buying/renting the book. Be mindful of whether you are buying or renting the book. Remember that rentals have a date that they need to be returned. You should also note if a book is a print version (hard copy) or digital (electronic version).

You also have the option to not buy a particular book through the bookstore. To remove a book from your list, select “No Thanks” under the purchase options.

When you are ready to add your selected book to your cart, click “Add Selected to Cart”. You will need to add each individual book to your cart. Once you have added everything that you wish to purchase, click on “Proceed to Checkout” at the bottom of the page.

Finally, you will be walked through shipping and payment options.
