Student Success and Development will host a series of virtual events this spring 2021 term. The programs are designed for new and returning undergraduate SUNY Empire State College students. All virtual events will be advertised through SUNY Empire Connects and are listed on our Student Success and Development MyESC Portal page. We look forward to seeing you virtually!

Workshop: Registration and Beyond

In this live, interactive session, you’ll learn how to search for classes in the course catalog and term guide and how to officially register in MyESC. In addition, we will review how to order textbooks from our online bookstore and where you can locate your learning contract. This workshop is open to all undergraduate students.

Workshop: Finding Student Success

As a student at SUNY Empire State College, you already have what it takes to be successful. This session is designed to help you apply what you know, and the things you already do, to achieve success in your academics. We will provide helpful resources, strategies, and advice that you can use throughout your educational journey with us. We’ll also provide time for students to share tips on finding success as a SUNY Empire student.

Workshop: Degree Discovery

In this virtual workshop, you’ll meet with faculty from across the college to discuss academic areas of interest, concentration requirements, prior learning opportunities, and career paths. There will be one workshop per undergraduate school. Invitations will be sent closer to the February event dates.

 

 

Ask Student Success: Drop-in Session

Welcome to the beginning of the term! Stop by and chat with Student Success for helpful tips on topics including how to navigate your online courses in Moodle, where to find your course syllabus, tips on being a successful student, or anything else on your mind!

You're Halfway There . . . Midterm Check-in

As you approach the middle of the term, is your motivation and persistence as strong as it was on the first day? We’re inviting you to a causal conversation about what worked well for you throughout your first eight weeks, as well as what could have gone better. Take the opportunity to virtually meet other students and swap beneficial strategies. We’ll also provide a refresher on connecting with SUNY Empire State College resources for student success.
