Visual Arts in New York City
"The opportunity to transform myself from a working photographer to an artist came through courses such as Digital Atelier, Issues in Contemporary Art and many independent studies in art history and humanities, leading to an MFA from Queens College, where I now teach photography." — Steven P. Harris '12
SUNY Empire provides artists and students with an interest in the visual arts the opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree through a range of artistic expression available at our Metropolitan location. Students can take advantage of a drawing studio and a digital printmaking studio with state-of-the-art technology and color printers. Students also can engage in other studio work, independently or in community workshops.
Arts NYC students are connected to museums, galleries, and studios throughout New York City's five boroughs. You'll gain curatorial experience through hands-on exhibition production and/or internships at museums or alternative art spaces.
