Transferring in Completed Associate Degrees
Students who have successfully completed degree requirements for an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science at regionally accredited institutions will be able to transfer to Empire State College all credit earned for the associate degree, including “D” grades that are part of the completed degree, if the student transfers in the entire degree. Students who transfer in part but not all of the credit earned in an associate degree cannot transfer “D” grades.
Students continuing in a bachelor’s degree program in an area of study closely related to their associate degree, may be able to complete all requirements (liberal arts and science credits, advanced level credits, general education requirements) with two additional years of successful full-time study.
Student continuing in a bachelor’s degree program in an area of study not closely related to their associate degree may require more than 2 years of successful full-time study to complete their degrees.
Articulation Agreements
Empire State College has articulation agreements with all of the State University of New York (SUNY) community colleges. These agreements help to ease the transfer process from one SUNY institution to another.
