Susan Bruce, Veteran and Military Services Coordinator

Ms. Bruce joined the college in 1998 and has worked closely with the e-ArmyU, GoArmyEd and Navy Distance Learning Partnership programs. In her current role, Ms. Bruce provides support services and guidance to veterans, active-duty military students and their families. She assists veteran students in the educational benefits process at Empire State College and is working with student veterans to establish a local and virtual student veterans group. As our military liaison to Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), Ms. Bruce oversees program updates and the SOC course transferability process, in addition to the student agreement submission process for GoArmyEd. She participates in the student services professional group at Empire State College and supervises the Office of Veteran and Military Education support staff.

Ms. Bruce has extensive experience working with the international distance learning components of our program. Prior to her current role, Ms. Bruce managed international distance learning (IDL) in SUNY Empire Online, overseeing and coordinating all operations for the program.

Ms. Bruce's dedication to our military and veteran population is demonstrated through her leadership role as the current coordinator and manager of the Adopt-A-Platoon project for our troops deployed from Ft. Drum.
