Dean's Welcome

I am honored to serve as dean, alongside many dedicated and talented staff and faculty. I began my career at SUNY Empire as an adjunct instructor in early childhood studies and human development while working full time at a childcare resource and referral agency as a professional development specialist and program coordinator. 

I was immediately drawn to SUNY Empire’s mission – access to flexible and quality academic programs for motivated adult learners that build on their work and life experiences. This resonated because I was an adult while earning my master’s degree in education and, again, as I earned my Ph.D. in child and family studies. I know how challenging it can be to embark on an educational journey as a working adult.

After more than 12 years of service to the college, I remain a believer in SUNY Empire’s mission. There is no greater joy than to see graduates walk across the stage at commencement as they realize their dream of earning a college degree.
