#LoveBetter Campaign

by the office of student life

Throughout the month of October, SUNY Empire and SUNY will observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This year, instances of domestic violence have increased and intensified. COVID-19 has caused isolation, vulnerability, and exacerbated stress and other factors associated with intimate partner violence. SUNY’s Got Your Back remains committed to the important education and prevention initiatives we were conducting on campus—now at home.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, please reach out to SUNY Empire Title IX Coordinator, Kerianne Silver, at TitleIX@esc.edu or by phone at 1-800-847-3000 x1009 for assistance. If you need resources but aren’t ready to reach out, you can search the SUNY SAVR site by zip code to find resources near you.

We’re here for you.

This year, SUNY and the One Love Foundation are partnering to not only raise awareness of the consequences of unhealthy relationships, but also to highlight what healthy relationships look like by encouraging students to share how they #LoveBetter. Now through the end of October, students can submit a short video explaining what a healthy relationship means to them for a chance to be featured in our #LoveBetter video campaign.
