Student Government Association Information
As we move through the spring semester, it is once again time for Student Government elections!
Weeklong elections will be held for executive officers (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer), and student representatives (two seats for each school) beginning April 9, 2022.
The SGA serves as a community for students interested in politics, policy, and advocacy. The organization enables students to develop skills in leadership, project management, and issue-based communication.
The mission of the SGA is to ensure the student experience at SUNY Empire is rewarding. We accomplish this by listening, advocating, and engaging.
We listen to the needs of our fellow students to ensure they are connected to the appropriate resources and support to reach their academic goals.
We advocate on behalf of the student body by communicating with the administration and presenting resolutions and policy recommendations to the College Senate
We engage students by bringing the campus community together with exciting and enriching events and workshops.
SGA will be hosting information sessions for students looking to find out more about the SUNY Empire Student Government and upcoming election process on Monday, March 7 at 10 a.m. and March 10 at 7 p.m.
Applications of interest will be distributed at each info session and will be available on our website.
