In Case You Missed It
Balancing work, family, and school can be hard. If you missed out on some of the college’s programming in the last couple of months, you can catch up through recordings, repeats, and asynchronous options:
The Reason and Respect Series provides recordings versions of past events, including October’s discussion of Italian American Heritage Month. You can find all recordings at: https://www.esc.edu/president/reason-and-respect/
The Careers In series is a great way to get to learn about career options, whether you are just starting to plan your degree or getting ready to walk across the stage at commencement. This ongoing series returns in the spring term, but you can view recordings or previous panels like Careers in Human Resources, Careers in Human Services, Women Serving on Community & Non-Profit Boards, So You Want to be a Social Worker, or Careers in Marketing.
Writing final papers? The SUNY Empire Library offers asynchronous versions of workshops like Finding the Right Topic, Understanding and Evaluating Scholarly and Non-Scholarly Literature, Searching for Sources, and Citing Sources using APA. Just go to https://subjectguides.esc.edu/workshops to get started. If you would like one-on-one help from a learning coach, you can email Academic.Support@esc.edu to schedule an appointment.
Missed out Moodle or Statistics workshops? Academic Support regularly offers workshops at multiple times and days. Get started at https://my.esc.edu/academics/AcademicSupport/Pages/default.aspx
Missed learning about the Mentor/Student relationship or navigating the Registration system? Student Success and Development offers these workshops several times throughout the term. You can also drop by office hours on Mondays to ask a question. Just go to https://my.esc.edu/studentsuccess_and_dev/Pages/default.aspx to get started.
