Important Information to Know When Requesting an Exception to the Withdrawal Policy Due to Extenuating and Unforeseen Circumstances

  • All decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
  • Recalculation of federal financial aid is based upon your actual date of last attendance, regardless of the approval or denial of an exception to withdrawal policy. For information on how withdrawals impact current and future financial aid, see http://www.esc.edu/Withdraw.
  • If a balance due exists because of your official withdrawal, you are still expected to make the necessary payment, or payment arrangements, until a decision is made regarding your request. Failure to do so could result in your account being transferred to the New York state Attorney General for collections. If your account is transferred for collections, you will need to submit your request and documentation to the New York state AG's office for further consideration.
  • Administrative withdrawals and official withdrawals impact students’ good academic standing and eligibility for current and/or future financial aid. For more information, please visit http://www.esc.edu/Withdraw.
