Your Empire State College Academic Record
Your academic record at SUNY Empire State College includes a history of your studies, your degree program if it has been approved by both your center and the Office of Collegewide Academic Review, copies of learning contracts, and copies of your contract evaluations, among other items. If you have questions about your record, our records staff will be glad to assist you.
Please note that the Office of the Registrar can help answer questions about parts of your record that are fully processed; they cannot indicate the status of items that are still in the stages of being processed. For example, they will be able to tell you if a contract evaluation for one of your studies has been filed, but they will not be able to tell you the status of its processing if it has not been submitted by your mentor and approved by your center. Because of this, it is often a good idea to contact your SUNY Empire location with questions about your academic record. You can also view if a grade/outcome has been posted in your Academic Records (login, MyESC).
Some common questions that students ask of the Office of the Registrar staff include:
- Have outcomes (full credit, no credit, etc.) been posted to my completed studies?
The Office of the Registrar staff can tell you if the outcomes have been submitted, however, your center or unit is the best place to start to find out the status of your courses/studies. - Has my degree program been concurred (approved)?
The Office of the Registrar's staff can tell you if your degree program has been fully processed and is showing as concurred on your academic record. They cannot, however, provide you with information about your degree program if the concurrence process is still in progress. Again, your center or unit may have more detailed information to help you. - Have you processed my transcript request?
If you have submitted a transcript request to the Office of the Registrar, please remember that it may take up to two weeks (if there are no delays) from the time we receive your request to the time it is fully processed. However, the Office of the Registrar's staff will be able to assist you in determining the status of your transcript request. Reminder: We cannot accept transcript requests over the telephone, by fax or e-mail. See also our information on how to request an Empire State College transcript.
