A Salute to Women in Business, Carol Acquilano ’15 and April Baskin ’15, Among Honorees
SUNY Empire State College, in collaboration with the Neighborhood of the Arts Business Association (NOTABA), recently held an event, “Salute Women in Business in the Neighborhood of the Arts.”
Nearly 80 people, including state Sen. Joseph E. Robach, Rochester Mayor Lovely A. Warren and SUNY Empire students, alumni, faculty and staff attended the event.
SUNY Empire alumnae Carol Acquilano ‘15 and April Baskin ’15 were honored with nine other area women for “Contributions to a Significant Chapter in NOTA’s History.”
The Neighborhood of the Arts Association is the City of Rochester's arts district, which is described by the city as “a diverse cultural hub that attracts creative people and ideas.”
Sandra St. James ’14 photographed the event. A video slide show of James’ images is now available on the college’s Facebook fan page.
A photo album from the event also is available on Facebook.
NOTABA was established to benefit NOTA member businesses by creating a forum for sharing information, networking, promoting activities of its members and fostering civic involvement, with a focus on attracting visitors to the arts neighborhood.
The event was held at area food and drink emporium Nox Cocktail Lounge and Comfort Food on Thursday evening, March 3.
