Anita Sillery's work has been selected for the upcoming"Best of SUNY" show
Student Anita L. Sillery will have a recent watercolor included in the upcoming Best of SUNY exhibit at the New York State Museum, opening at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. She created the work in conjunction with the watercolor study led by SUNY Empire Associate Professor in The Arts Betty Wilde-Biasiny, at the Metropolitan New York Center, who calls her "a fantastic studio assistant in the Metropolitan Center's digital lab."
Sillery achieved the first tier of recognition, which means she is in the running for one of the cash awards to be announced at the exhibit reception.
Sillery is a student in visual art and photography, whose mentor is photographer Terry Boddie. She is one of several students who has begun a bachelor's degree in visual art, who also has studied at the Art Students League, the prestigious visual arts academy located in New York City for more than a century.
The show spotlights student art from across the SUNY system.
