Olean Directions

Empire State College is located on the fourth floor of the Library and Liberal Arts Center on the Cattaraugus Campus of Jamestown Community College.

North I-90 (Thruway) | Route 219 S |  South  Allegany County | Fredonia |  Jamestown |

From Interstate 90 (Thruway)

  • Take I-90 (Thruway) to exit 54 to  merge onto Route 400 S toward Route 16 (West Seneca/East Aurora).
  • Continue onto Route 16 S which brings you into Olean. Route 16 becomes N. Union Street.
  • Continue on N. Union Street past the Olean Center Mall and over the railroad tracks to the intersection of Routes 16 and 417 (East and West State Streets).
  • Turn left onto E. State Street. Drive two blocks and turn left onto N. Clinton Street (not the street with the traffic signal, go one block past it).
  • Drive down N. Clinton Street until it ends in the JCC parking lot.

From Route 219 S

  • Continue on Route 219 S into Salamanca. Stay on Route 219 until you see signs for the Route 86 expressway.
  • Take Route 86E going towards Olean. Get off at exit 26 which puts you on Route 16.
  • Turn right onto Route 16 which brings you into Olean. Route 16 becomes N. Union Street.
  • Continue on N. Union Street past the Olean Center Mall and over the railroad tracks to the intersection of Routes 16 and 417 (E and West State Streets).
  • Turn left onto E. State Street. Drive two blocks and turn left onto N. Clinton Street (not the street with the traffic signal, go one block past it).
  • Drive down N. Clinton Street until it ends in the JCC parking lot.

From Fredonia

  • Take Route 60 to Jamestown.
  • Take Route 86E to exit 26 which puts you on Route 16.
  • Turn right onto Route 16 which brings you into Olean. Route 16 becomes N. Union Street.
  • Continue on N. Union Street past the Olean Center Mall and over the railroad tracks to the intersection of Routes 16 and 417 (E and West State Streets).
  • Turn left onto E. State Street. Drive two blocks and turn left onto N. Clinton Street (not the street with the traffic signal, go one block past it).
  • Drive down N. Clinton Street until it ends in the JCC parking lot.

From Jamestown

  • Take Route 86E to exit 26 which puts you on Route 16.
  • Turn right onto Route 16 which brings you into Olean. Route 16 becomes N. Union Street.
  • Continue on N. Union Street past the Olean Center Mall and over the railroad tracks to the intersection of Routes 16 and 417 (E and W. State Streets).
  • Turn left onto E. State Street. Drive two blocks and turn left onto N. Clinton Street (not the street with the traffic signal; go one block past it).
  • Drive down N. Clinton Street until it ends in the JCC parking lot.

From Allegany County (Wellsville, Belmont, Alfred, etc.)

  • Take Route 417 to Olean through Bolivar and Portville. Route 417 becomes E. State Street when you enter Olean.
  • Continue on Route 417(E. State Street) past Bradner’s Stadium and War Vets Park.
  • Turn right on to N. Clinton Street which is the first right hand turn after the bridge.
  • Drive down N. Clinton Street until it ends in the JCC parking lot

Alternatively, Allegany County travelers can take Route 86W.

  • Take Route 86W to exit 26 which puts you on Route 16.
  • Turn right onto Route 16 which brings you into Olean. Route 16 becomes N. Union Street.
  • Continue on N. Union Street past the Olean Center Mall and over the railroad tracks to the intersection of Routes 16 and 417 (E and W. State Streets).
