International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Bachelor's Degree Program

The IBEW Local Union 3 bachelor's degree program offers its members the opportunity to complete a 124-credit bachelor's degree program in labor studies with a concentration in labor and the construction industry.

The labor and the construction industry program reflects what students bring into SUNY Empire State College as transcript credit and also what they have acquired via credit by evaluation. In the case of IBEW Local Union 3 apprentices, electrical theory instruction offers the most obvious source for credit by evaluation. Apprentices generally receive credit by evaluation after their fourth year is completed. The total of transcript credit and credit by evaluation constitute a student's advanced-standing credits. No student may receive more than 93 advanced-standing credits.
