Evaluator Resource Guide

Thank you for your interest in the SUNY Empire State College program of evaluating individualized prior college/university-level learning for our students.

Empire State College grants credit for college/university-level learning whether it was gained in traditional or nontraditional settings. While this includes credit for standardized examinations and pre-evaluated training, in this guide we focus on evaluating individual learning, which we call individualized Prior Learning Assessment or iPLA.

The process is significant for students, so it is critically important to have qualified individuals to provide thorough and effective college/university-level learning evaluations.

The purpose of these resources is to assist you in learning the process and requirements for evaluations of college/university-level learning and making credit recommendations.
