Federal TEACH Grant Program
IMPORTANT: If you do not complete your service obligation outlined in the agreement to serve, all TEACH Grant funds you received will be converted to a Direct Unsubsidized Loan. You must then repay this loan to the U.S. Department of Education, with interest charged from the date the TEACH Grant was originally disbursed (paid to you or on your behalf).
The TEACH Grant is a program created to award eligible students up to $4,000 per year. Only graduate students in the Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program may be eligible for the TEACH Grant at Empire State College. Students enrolled in a certificate program are not eligible for financial aid unless concurrently enrolled as a matriculated student working toward a degree. More information on the TEACH Grant Program is available.
If you have already completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and you would like to apply for the TEACH Grant, please link to the TEACH Entrance Counseling and the Agreement to Serve or Repay below. You will be able to complete both forms at the link below.
Prior to graduating or leaving school, TEACH Grant recipients must complete exit counseling.
- Complete the TEACH Grant Exit Counseling form if you are in your final term of receiving the TEACH Grant or if you will no longer be attending Empire State College.
