Student Aid Report
Students should receive the result data immediately after filing the FAFSA, which gives the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined by the standard Department of Education formula.
Students who completed a paper FAFSA should receive the Student Aid Report (SAR) which gives his/her Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined by the standard Department of Education formula by hardcopy mail or e-mail within four weeks.
Students should check the information on the SAR for the information's accuracy and correct the information per the instructions provided by the federal processor.
Students who currently list Empire State College (010286) as the school of record on the FAFSA will have their ISIR automatically received by the Empire State College Financial Aid office. Students who do not list Empire State College (010286) as the school of record on the FAFSA must submit a correction to add Empire State College's school code in order for Empire State College to access the records.
Corrections to the Student Aid Report
The Financial Aid office utilizes FAFSA on the Web, Central Processing System (CPS) to make corrections to Student Aid Reports/ISIRs. Students can make corrections online by following the federal processor's instructions that are sent with their federal data analysis. Corrections via FAFSA on the Web, Central Processing System (CPS) generally take a few days compared to several weeks for the manual processing of a correction via the processor. Dependency errors can be corrected electronically.
Verification
Some students will be selected by the federal processor or the school for verification and will be required to submit additional documentation to the Financial Aid office before his/her aid is processed.
