Description: The work-study student would be responsible for assisting OCAR in project-based and day-to-day office work. For example, the college is undergoing a document storage system upgrade. The upgrade requires reorganization and re-annotation of all academic documents (transcripts, exams, certifications, licenses, etc.) for the past three years. OCAR will train the work-study student on the annotation process. At the conclusion of this project, the work-study student will be assigned to assist on other office projects and office activities. Due to the highly sensitive nature of academic documents, degree plans and other documents handled by the office, the work-study student will be provided FERPA training and need to sign a confidentiality statement. Qualifications include good organization, communication and computer skills. Ability to work with confidential materials and adhere to FERPA guidelines required.

Description: The SUNY Empire State College Office of Accessibility Resources and Services is looking to hire a student typist for the fall 2019 term. Handwritten student papers will scanned and e-mailed or audio/ voice recordings will be e-mailed to the typist. The expectation would be the scanned handwritten papers and/or voice recordings will be typed and saved in Microsoft Word documents. All work can be completed remotely and hours will vary week to week. The Office of Accessibility Resources and Services will provide the typist with syllabi at the beginning of the term with paper deadlines so a draft schedule can be put in place.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

Description: The Office of the Assistant to the Dean supports the initiatives of the Office of the Dean and the Genesee Valley Center. Professionalism, confidentiality and the highest level of customer service are critical components of this position. Duties may include working on external events, internal programs, as well as individualized projects. The Office of the Assistant to the Dean offers opportunities to work on literacy programs, a college residency and community programs with government representatives, and more. Students also may perform routine clerical work, as assigned by the assistant to the dean. Students may have the opportunity to work on specific individualized projects for their skill sets. Description: Assistance and support with administrative tasks, in addition to some assistance with research projects.
